The Internet - It provided us with a lot of info on what we should be looking for in a kennel and what questions to ask.

Why you continued to use our service?

Because Akuna are a step ahead of all their competition and treat their guests as one of the family.

What is your favourite Ma-lii story?

Time to organise our holidays again, but this time we had a new puppy in the family to consider. We were however,
thinking of adopting a different approach for pet care while were away than the usual friends taking care of the pets approach. Apart from the perceived burden it placed on our friends to baby-sit, it was always in the back of our minds
'what if they accidentally left the door open and she escaped', and we were sure they wouldn't treat her as closely as we would.
It was time to look for a more professional approach, but we were in unknown territory. The Internet came to my help as usual and in particular the site for Akuna Care. Their web site was able to educate us in all the things we should consider when choosing a kennel for our dog. This information proved invaluable to us, as it made us identify what the key areas of care we expected, and ask the appropriate questions to the kennels we interviewed. After many phone calls to all the kennels in a radius of 200kms of Sydney, the list was narrowed to a few potentials. Once we visited these kennels (that by the way had been recommended to us) and armed with the knowledge we now had gained from Akuna Care, the shortcomings of these other kennels became glaringly obvious. Without this education from Akuna, I don't think we would have even picked up on the issues that we could now see in these other kennels. A neat and clean appearance can be deceptive and not necessarily giving your dog the care that an owner would expect.

To us, it was very important that Ma-lii not share a pen, that she had a grass run, proper meals of our choice, and most of all regular individual attention everyday. We also had to ensure we trusted the operators and that they would treat Ma-lii as a guest and not just some dog in pen number '9'.

After a visit to Akuna Care and talking with Ariel and Marcus, it was clear in our minds that we had finally found a place we could trust Ma-lii would be well cared for when we were on vacation. We have used Akuna Care numerous times for stays even up to 5 weeks, and never been disappointed.
