Why you first choose Akuna Care?

We chose Akuna Care because it had been recommended to us by friends who kennel their dog there. Our friends have always been satisfied with the level of care and knew that their family pet would be well looked after and loved.

Why you continued to use our service?

There were a number of things that we enjoyed:

Delivery of our dog back home (and it was punctual too, delivery was made at the time stated and agreed upon)

Option of adding extra food to his diet e.g. chicken necks.

The bath he was given before coming home.

What is your favourite Merlot story?

My husband and I had both lost our staffies. My black female 'Tifla' 12 years, and his brindle (red) male 18 years. It was some 12 months or more before we could think about getting another staffy. My husband's cousin is a breeder, so with her persuasion we waited for a litter. My husband wanted a brindle and I a black one. We realized that each of us was trying to replace the one we lost - this was not possible, we thought we better pick a dog that was different to 'Tifla' and 'Shay'.
The litter was born - they were all peid (white with markings). The name was tricky. First it was Chintz (a while died fabric). No-one liked this name for a male staffy.
The day came when we were able to take this new different looking staffy home. Our family was all in the lounge room with our new puppy thinking of a name. I turned back and looked around our lounge room and there was our wine collection. My husband's favorite red wine is Merlot. Our new puppy had a white coat with a splash of red on him. So we called him Merlot. Merlot is almost 2 years old now and he is a wonderful pet with his own special antics and ways. He is as special as 'Tifla' and 'Shay' and 'Merlot' has earned a special place in our hearts like our previous staffies.
